Letters of Invitation
The ASAA will provide a letter of invitation to assist individuals in expediting visas and securing funding. A request for a letter of invitation can be made by completing the online form. Please note: requests require 4-5 weeks to process. Requests received after September 30, 2019, are not guaranteed to be processed.

Check that you have all the vaccinations you may need including a Yellow Fever Certificate. You may be required to carry yellow card when arriving to Nairobi depending on what country you are traveling from. Check out this link for more information.
Kenya uses Electric plug G240V50Hz. Traveling toKenyayou will need to use electric travel adapter G also know as the standard British 3-pin rectangular blade plug or the “13-amp plug.”

ATMs are readily available in Nairobi. Visa is more widely used than Mastercard. If you want to use M-Pesa, Kenya’s world-renowned mobile money system, register when you purchase a Safaricom SIM card (upon arrival in country).
- Matatus are a very affordable way to move around the city like a local and relatively safe to take during the day, but not usually at night. Nairobi matatu map here: http://www.digitalmatatus.com/
- For better or worse, Uber and other ride-hailing apps (Bolt and Little Cab) have taken the city by storm. You can call one from the airport upon arrival.
- Boda-boda / piki pikis are also a popular way to get around, especially in some of the neighborhoods (note that they are not able to get into CBD). Ride-hailing apps like SafeBoda have made them a convenient way to get around Nairobi traffic. (Follow Nairobi traffic live updates at Ma3Route.com).
October weather in Nairobi is usually quite mild with an average high of 24 degrees Celsius and a low of 13 degrees Celsius. You can find the latest weather forecast here. Do carry a rain jacket or umbrella, as there is a likelihood of rain.
